Charleston Marketplace is a traditional Caribbean marketplace is home to a variety of booths and stalls where locals sell a variety of wares. Nevis Handicraft Society is a little shop in downtown Charlestown near the wharf and the public market that sells a variety of handmade and crafted items from island residents. Downtown Charlestown, while small, does have a selection of quaint shops and tourist shopping areas that cater to the collectibles and island-wear crowd. Here's a small sample of items you'll find in St. Kitts & Nevis:

St. Kitts & Nevis Shopping Tips:
  • U.S. Dollars are widely accepted in St. Kitts & Nevis however, be advised that in most cases you will receive change in the local currency which is the Caribbean Dollar.
  • Haggling and Bargaining is a customary practice in St. Kitts & Nevis however some places offer items at fixed prices and they are usually posted.

Kitts & Nevis. The official currency of St. Kitts and Nevis is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar. U.S. Dollars are widely accepted. Those who choose to pay in U.S. dollars, however, should be aware that coins are not accepted on the island, and change will be given in Eastern Caribbean Dollars.Credit cards are widely accepted at major hotels, restaurants, other major services, but smaller operations may only accept cash or Visa and Mastercard.
