Alternative Dining on the Navigator of the Seas - Chops Grille, Chef's Table, Jamie's Italian, Izumi, and Hooked Seafood

Chops Grille:

Royal_dining_chops2Located portside on Deck 11, Chops Grille on the Navigator of the Seas awaits you. This classic, five star restaurant is perfect for special occasions, your wine list at Chops Grille is the best to be found on your cruise! Tuna Tartarre and crab cakes are among appetizers, and main entree choices include a variety of cuts of steak, fish, and grilled meats. Desserts on your menu include the Mississippi Mud Pie (which receives excellent guest reviews) and Apple Pudding.

The Chops Grille is one of the most popular restaurants on the Navigator of the Seas, and reservations are required. It is advised that you book early as the Chops Grille will sell out. You can make reservations as soon as you board the ship, however, the best way is to make them when you do online check-in well before you get on board the ship.

There is a 39 USD charge per diner at Chops Grille.

Jamie's Italian:

The Navigator of the Seas invites you to Jamie's Italian by Jamie Oliver, a world class British chef who adores Italian cuisine! Expect a relaxed, informal dining atmosphere in keeping with a trattoria, where you will be treated to a menu consisting of three courses. And, of course, it's Italian a la Jamie Oliver. Risotto, Pear and Prosciutto Salad, Rosemary and Garlic Chicken, Prawn Linguine, and pasta dishes are among the entrees on this delightful menu at Jamie's Italian on the Navigator of the Seas. Lunch is 20 USD and dinner is 30 USD per person. Jamie's Italian is located aft and starboard on Deck 5 of the Navigator of the Seas. Smart casual attire is recommended.

A la Carte signature rolls on the of Navigator of the Seas' Izumi Japanese restaurant menu. The sushi rolls include Snow Crab California, Box salmon & Crab, Box Yellowtail Tuna, Shrimp Tempura, and Champagne Salmon. Food and beverages at Izumi are at current menu prices. We suggest smart casual attire, and that you check when on for hours open. Izumi is located portside on Deck 14, and is open nightly from 6:00 to 9:30 PM. On sea days, Izumi is open for lunch from 12:00 to 1:30 PM.

Appetizers include Drunken Mussels (in either marinara or white wine garlic sauce), shrimp cocktail, fried calamari, or oysters. Oysters choices are fresh raw or broiled; leeks and white wine, Rockefeller, and brie and champagne are among your selections. Your soup option is New England Clam Chowder, and there are House and Caesar Salads with optional shrimp or chicken. The Captain's Platter (fresh filet, a skewer of grilled shrimp, a 4 ounce lobster tail, and lobster macaroni and cheese), Surf & Turf, Maine Lobster Roll, Whole Maine Lobster, Fresh Off the Hook (grilled, fried, or blacked cod, salmon, or fresh catch), and the Messy Fish Sandwich are main entree choices. Each comes with your choice of two sides, which are seasonal veggies, French fries, cole slaw, lobster mac & cheese, and corn on the cob. If there's room for dessert, Whoopie Pie, Bread Pudding, Boston Cream Pie, and Blueberry Pie are your delicious options! The per person charge for dining at Hooked Seafood is 39 USD. Anticipate an additional charge for some entrees. Lobster, for example, is an additional 30 USD, and 1/2 pound of Alaskan King Crab is 18 USD. Shellfish are also at an extra charge. Is it worth it? Oh, yes!

This venue does require formal attire, and we recommend more time than typical for this classic gourmet repast! The Chef's Table starts at 95 USD per person.

Tips for Alternative Restaurants on the Navigator of the Seas:

  • Menu for Chops Grille on Royal Caribbean
  • Chops Grille is available for dinner by reservation only.
  • We recommend making your pre-confirmation reservations online (during the check-in process) or with Royal Caribbean's Ship Services as soon as possible after booking.
  • You may make your reservations the first day of your cruise, but with this option your choices will probably be limited.
  • Royal Caribbean offers special reservations packages before you board, which include booking reservations for Chops Grille.
  • This is a dinner only experience from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at Chops Grille and you'll feel most comfortable at the supper club in elegant attire on formal evenings, but otherwise smart casual is suggested.
  • There is no smoking in Chops Grille. The 39 USD fee per diner charge does include gratuity.
  • Specialty drinks, beer, wine, and soft drinks can be purchased from the current bar menu at Chops Grille.
  • How much should I tip at the specialty restaurants including Chops Grille on the Navigator of the Seas? First, bear in mind that all alcoholic beverages that you pay for will have a gratuity added. The cover charge does include gratuity; however, you may wish to consider giving an extra gratuity to the waiter or waitress who has served you. An appropriate amount is to estimate the value of the meal you ordered if you ordered it on land and tip 15-20% based on that cost. If you feel that the value of the meal was 50 USD were you to order it in a land-based restaurant, you should tip 7.50- 10 USD. It is certainly your discretion not to tip, but the waiters serving you are some of the best on the ship and should be rewarded if they provided you with an exceptional dining experience.
